Welcome to the Windle Valley Runners .

We are a small Club, with approximately 100 members, and are based in the village of Windlesham in Surrey, England.

Our club aims to provide a friendly environment, in which runners of all abilities, can enjoy their running.
This is complemented by various social events all through the year.

All new members are very welcome. If you would like to join us, then turn up to any of our training runs,
and make yourself known to one of us.

I wasn’t expecting much results wise from this run as I’ve been plagued with Achilles tendon and calf trouble since July last year, meaning I hadn’t trained very much and  hadn’t run at all for the previous two weeks, deciding that my calf would benefit more from a good rest.

I awoke to heavy rain on Sunday and decided to abandon my plan to walk/jog to the start, and opted to drive down instead. I got to the start area and queued up for the loos – not too bad a queue, and then headed off to get changed.

I managed to keep a steady pace for 7 miles when my lack of training started to tell, I slowed to about 10 minute/mile pace for a few miles and the last two miles were about 11 minute miles with lots of people overtaking me....
