"Windle Valley Runners" were formed to cater primarily for roadrunners.

We are affiliated to "England Athletics",   "South of England Athletic Association" and "Surrey County Athletic Associations".

We have a membership of over 100 people of all ages, with abilities ranging between 35 and 70 minutes for the ten kilometre distance. Although based in Windlesham the club also boasts members from surrounding areas including Lightwater, Camberley, Frimley and Farnborough plus further afield and even overseas. Some members race most weekends whilst others just run for pleasure. Our training runs are designed to cater for all needs and our very popular Thursday Summer session is even suitable for accompanied youngsters.

Almost as popular are our monthly 10k handicap runs which regularly attract around 25 people, so there is always someone to match your ability. We regularly enter teams in relay events and we always have at least a dozen representatives in the London Marathon with visits as far afield as the Paris Marathon. The club has enjoyed success by winning the Windsor Lions Relay and several of our members have won local individual races. Our ladies section is continuing to grow and improve which was illustrated by their achievement of third place in both the "1995 South of England" and the "1996 Surrey Half Marathon Championships".  Just as importantly, we have many members with us who would rather not compete in events, but are very happy joining us for our training sessions and social events.

The club organises two "open" events each year with  the "Brickmakers Arms Relay Marathon" enjoying many years of success. A more recent addition is the "3 day Event" in May, which has now become a popular Bank Holiday annual fixture.

Training takes place on three days each week and at a variety of venues. In addition several members have formed small running groups. We produce a quarterly newsletter and have a club noticeboard at the "Sun corner", Updown Hill in Windlesham. Both of these update members with race results, information, articles and details of upcoming events.

Why not attend our most popular training session on Thursdays and introduce yourself. Our current training venues and times are shown on our training page
