I, along with a few other Windle runners, ran the Maidenhead Easter 10 on Good Friday; and for change, the weather was good!!

Not too cold and the rain held off until I was driving home. Another unusual occurrence was the race started on time!!

In past years the start has been delayed because of long loo queues or long traffic queues trying to get into the business park.

Perhaps people are starting to realise this now, and getting there earlier, or perhaps they were using bushes more!!!

The boring bits round the business park are made a bit better by all the supporters and watchers, and it’s nice to see the runners in the lead coming back down to the park as we’re all going up the road.

I waved at Keith and Laura a couple of times, and even got a wave and a smile back from Laura, so that was nice!! 

The open stretch through farmland along the tractor path was pleasant this year.

It didn’t seem quite so windy as usual, and I caught up with a Fetcheveryone forumite there and had a little chat with her for a bit.

 I managed to keep at a fairly steady 9 minute/mile for 7 miles, but the incline up to the railway bridge at mile 8 got me again, and I slowed a bit for the last two miles, but finished in the time I expected.

Got a Mars bar and a medal at the end, then made my way back to the car – it’s always a nightmare trying to get out of the business park, and it took me nearly half an hour!!

WVR men finished 35^th out of 39, and ladies 8^th out of 21.
