Windle Valley Runners 18th AGM – Wednesday 17th October 2007
Venue: Windlesham Club and Theatre, Windlesham. Time: 7.50 pm Chairman – Ken Anckorn welcomed club members to the AGM and started the meeting. Apologies - From:- Chris Dent, Amanda O’Leary, Mark Coxhead, Dave Ricards, Sara Ricards, Jenny Peppiatt, Ivan Chandler, Keith Hopkins. Barry had received a letter from Jean Heywood which he read out to the meeting, in the letter Jean thanked the club for keeping her informed by regular newsletters but as she had now sold up and moved to Lewes asked to be removed from the mailing list. Minutes of previous AGM – were agreed, there were no matters arising. Accounts – Jonathan Vickery presented the accounts to the AGM and highlighted several key points. Excess of income over expenditure £47.46 Selection of club kit for sale Subscriptions totalled £700 Marathon mat laying £300 income, after travelling expenses paid Affiliation fees to EA £389 this year, increase next year to £550 in total No events run this year but a nil cost to the club Balance sheet shows the club net worth as £1,602.51p A proposal to increase club membership fees to £12, was agreed. Election of committee – The following were elected as continuing members of the club committee
Both Phil Morley and Kevin Pedley, who were not seeking re-election were thanked for their work on the committee. Lucy Allen and Jo Smith were proposed and elected to the committee. Proposals by club members – Nick Cook had proposed that chip times be accepted for this year’s club championships, following lengthy discussion this proposal was defeated. Nick Cook further proposed that chip times be accepted for next year’s club championships, this was agreed. Captains reports – Katie presented the report for Chris in which he thanked members for helping him through his first year as Club Captain, training had been well attended on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, race results had where possible been put on the club web site and the club newsletter. Congratulations to Miles for his Polar Marathon exploits! Special congratulations to Dave McLean for his Julian Farrell time of 38.47 and Cabbage Patch time of 64.14. Forthcoming events to consider include Camberley’s open XC on 18th November, Gosport half on 25th November and Tadley XC on 9th December. Katie added that the recent Cabbage Patch 10 mile had seen 20 WVR runners take part!! AOB 1. Chris mentioned that Jenny Peppiatt was running NY marathon (Pam had a ‘wish her well card’) 2. Murray asked if the earliest possible information could be given regarding the Relay Marathon. Yes! 3. Irene asked for consideration to be given, on training runs, to the slower members at the back, this had been discussed in committee and been noted. 4. Chris Lovell asked about Windsor Great Park (still shut) 5. Dave McLean asked about the three day event, the committee would endeavour to see the event ran next year. 6. Jill suggested a novel competition involving predicted times for a mile race. 7. Consideration should be given for training to move to the ‘Lookout’ on Sundays 8. Barry mentioned the D&D on Sat 9th Feb 2008 Meeting closed at 9.10pm
