Hill Training in Yemen    April 2005

Brian Sutcliffe reports:

Running in Yemen

I am still travelling having recently spent 3 weeks in Kunduz Afghanistan I am now in Sanaa Yemen. I have to admit that I decided not to run in Afghanistan - some beautiful running country but unfortunately most of it mined. There are also marauding tribesmen with various weapons who probably would not recognise the innocence of a Windle Valley Running Vest.

Yemen has some spectacular scenery but so far I have confined my running to early morning jogs along the main roads of Sanaa.

However, there is a chapter of the Hash House Harriers meeting regularly on Monday nights and I understand that they attract up to 40 runners/walkers/drinkers each week so I am hoping to meet up with them next week and improve the variety of my runs.
