Michael Waine from WVR took the Mens' first prize, with Christine Flynn
leading the Ladies.
Andrea Sott and Pam Berriman from our own WVR team came 3rd and 5th
respectively.
Once again a great success and a record attendance
this year.
On Day 1, the 10k Time Trial, all entrants and helpers turned up at
the Sun in good time to be greeted by threatening skies. Wendy soon had
everyone organised and they went off at well timed intervals. A fairly
heavy shower met them on the way round but all returned in good times and
spirits
Obviously all survived the track session on Day 2 and duly arrived
for the last challenge, the hill run on Day 3. This, to the
un-initiated could be a shock, but all took it bravely in their stride, so
to speak. To us supporters they certainly looked good on the way up and
grateful on the way down!
The rain held off while we enjoyed the beer and Presentation. Alan Arnold
from Hart RR was awarded "Man of the Match", and recorded a PB for his 10k
time.
Well done to everyone, particularly to newcomers who did well and Pam for
the ladies who did P.B. for her 10k and overall time. Thanks to Wendy for
all her efforts, I hope to be running with you all again next year. |
